Our workshops can be easily tailored to suit the needs of your school. Below are just a few of the many workshops we could provide, depending on what you would like to focus on.

Incorporating elements of all three disciplines – song, dance and drama, students will be introduced to the magic of music theatre and learn what it takes to become a triple threat performer. Workshops can be tailored to focus on a particular musical, or on the genre as a whole. Students will develop characters and gain an understanding of story before learning songs and original choreography from some of the world’s biggest productions. You’ll even hear industry news, tips and tricks along the way!

Backstage workshops are a great way to learn about the technical areas of theatre and what goes on behind the scenes. Students will step into a role on the creative team and discover what’s required to bring a show to life. Backstage workshops can be tailored to compliment your theatre studies curriculum or focus on a musical or play of your choice. Learn about the design and planning process of lighting, props, costume design, set design, stage management, and hair/make-up.

Our VCE preparation workshops are aimed specifically at those students who are undergoing VCE Drama or Dance and want some extra time to prepare and feel comfortable with their end of year solo-exam material. These workshops can be held within the school, or the students can attend a weekend workshop at a separate venue where they’ll have the chance to rehearse, refine and perform their pieces for their peers.

Want to know what it’s like to audition for a professional show? Our Audition workshops are the perfect way to see what the process is like in a comfortable and fun learning environment. Students will discover how the casting process works, and go through an audition scenario learning tips and tricks along the way.

Through a wide range of fun, engaging and educational activities, Theatre Workshops offer participants a memorable performing arts experience.

Each workshop will include a range of group games and exercises to keep the learning process hands on and fun!

Stage Masters creates “Objective Driven” theatre workshops. Our experience in the youth performing arts industry and in production development mean we are able to produce HIGH QUALITY, INNOVATIVE experiences.

In planning logistics, staffing, infrastructure and workshops, Stage Masters realises the additional level of care required when dealing with children and young adults in a theatrical environment and our methodology seeks to MAXIMISE ENJOYMENT and MINIMISE RISK.

Theatre Workshops travel ‘on the road’ to interested organisations, or alternatively can be held in a professional rehearsal room used regularly by global productions.

Led by qualified teachers and industry professionals, workshop participants will be encouraged to let their creativity soar as they participate in a range of activities, build their self-confidence, and learn valuable team and leadership skills. Past tutors include cast members from Wicked, Mary Poppins, Les Miserables, Legally Blonde and more.

The customisable workshop model allows this program to cater for a wide range of skill level and experience, from beginners who are ready to explore the creative possibilities of the performing arts through to theatre pros who desire the challenge and critique of industry professionals.

Theatre workshops can cater for pre-school, primary and secondary students. These can run for one to two hours with possibility to run a series over a period of time.

Why should our school hold a workshop?

Our theatre workshops are a fantastic way to involve students in various areas of the performing arts in a way that the school curriculum can’t always offer. With professionals coming in to teach students, our workshops provide real insight into the world of a professional in the arts industry. Even if they have no aspirations for a career in the performing arts, our workshops foster team work, creativity, self-confidence and encourage students to be courageous and push themselves out of their comfort zone. These are all skills that any student will find useful in many other areas of their lives. Plus, they’re just good fun!

How many students can participate?

The size of a typical group varies depending on each section, but generally 25 – 35 participants. Contact us today to ask about your group.

What workshop should I choose?

That depends entirely on the group you are running the workshop for and the purpose you want it to serve. If you are preparing students for your upcoming school production, then the Musical Theatre Workshop is a great choice. If you have a large group of choir singers who want to experience other ways to use their voice, than singing Workshop might be right for you. The great thing is that the workshops listed on our website are only examples of what we can do. Our workshops are completely customisable, so you can pick and choose what elements you want to provide for your students. If you are interested in booking, we can discuss the options and tailor the perfect workshop for your school.

When are the workshops?

The workshop dates can fit around the schedule of the school year. Booking well ahead of time is always recommended so that we can make sure you lock in the dates you need.

What kind of space do we need for the workshop?

A large hall or gym is the perfect space for our workshops. This is especially necessary for the workshops that require a lot of movement. However, depending on what you need, we are sure that we can find the right space within your school.

How do I book a workshop?

To book a workshop, register your interest on our website and one pof our friendly staff members will be in touch to discuss your needs.

Who will run the workshop on the day?

We will have an experienced performer and teacher running your session, specific to the workshop that you’ve booked. Along the way these teachers will offer their expertise and information on their own experiences in the industry.

Register your interest and one of our friendly staff will be in touch to discuss your needs. Please include as much information as you can.
